The adorable design piece is hand painted. It is dated 85. There painting is against an off-white colored background. The colors and design are bold and really pop! There are no holes, tears or stains. This sampler would be awesome framed or used to applique on the front of a large throw pillow! We found no flaws (stains, tears or holes) to note on this sampler.
