Antique Red and Indigo "Old Maids Ramble" Feed Sack Quilt

$295.00

Antique Red and Indigo "Old Maids Ramble" Feed Sack Quilt

Make: Hand Pieced & Hand Quilted

Dimensions:‍ 66” by 74”

SPI: 8

Condition: 4 Star Condition

Details: This is what we would call a light weight! This quilt is still in great condition for its age, but it has some wear. The blocks have indigo, red, and mourning blacks, with shirting fabrics as the backgrounds. The sashing blocks are red on red polka dot print. The binding is a different red print, that matches the other red fabrics. The back of the quilt is feed sack — with advertising still visibly. There are 48 blocks! The smallest triangles measure only 1” tall. There are no holes, or stains. There are no “tears”, but there is some fabric loss in a handful of tiny triangles and seam pops. There is the only reason for the loss of a star on the condition rating. This quilt has been washed and air dried. These have been photographed for reference. Please view all pictures before buying.

History: There is no known history for this quilt. But the fabrics in our fabric dating resource put this quilt’s age between 1880-1910.

Whippoorwill Quilts rates the quilts from 1 to 5 Stars. 1 Star is in the worst condition - 5 Stars is considered in the best condition.
